The Colorado Wilderness Act is included in the Protecting America's Wilderness legislation (PAW+). Ask Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper for their support.
The Colorado Wilderness Act (CWA) will protect 660,000 acres of wilderness across the state. Championed for many years by Rep. DeGette, it is included in the PAW+ legislation, as well as a stand-alone bill. In Wild Connections’ region, this bill includes Beaver Creek, Grape Creek, McIntyre Hills, Table Mountain, Badger Creek, and the Browns Canyon National Monument.
CORE Act recieves Senate markup
Wilderness Workshop reports that the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee - the committee that oversees public lands legislation - took up the CORE Act in an official “markup”, a critical step toward advancing the bill in the Senate. You might recall that the CORE Act has already passed the House this Congress, meaning that Senate passage is the next step for the bill to become law. Along with Congressman Neguse, Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper have been champions of the CORE Act. Today’s markup is the result of their dedicated work and reflects the clear desires of local communities to have these lands protected in perpetuity.
